My youngest son is 7 and still loves to color. The Painting Lulu app is a nice, quiet app. It is a great app for your kids when you are at doctor appointments.  The stylus can be used on many things. If your kids are anything like mine, then they are always losing things. My boys have a 2DS and they lost the stylus for it, and this worked perfectly for that also.
